Our desire is to expand our opportunities to pray together. I want to see our church building used for extended periods of intercession. I've been excited by 24-7 prayer rooms for a long time and had some amazing encounters with God in them myself in the past.
A simple truth clicked in me a while back that the institutional religious approach to prayer-rooms is the pressure of "filling up the hour slots to get more praying done".
That pressure can cause us to miss the invitation from God to come and spend time in His Presence, joining with Him in the great partnership of Warrior prayer. We can pray anywhere at anytime, but setting aside a space to do this together can be the stimulus we need and when His people seek Him together in the same place, there is an intensification of His Presence.
Our building is ideal for this, with the teaching rooms being accessible and secure from the rest of the building. So on the first Thursday of each month, we set aside the large teaching room in the church building as a "prayer room". It will be open and set up for prayer and intercession from 7am to 11pm. There is no rota to fill - just a place set aside as an encouragement to gather there and pray, either alone or with those we find there."
Please come along and spend some time with God, partnering with Him in whatever way He leads you.
